Understanding the critical nature of the healthcare dilemma that all employers and individuals face today, Matt has partnered with key players in the healthcare and employee benefits arena to form Dr Connection Benefits. Similar to his formation of HTE (see below), Matt has shown the foreknowledge to recognize trends, but more important, vital needs in the marketplace. Coupled with his national and international contacts, and his ability to apply his sales and marketing skills to new ventures, Mr. Robinson offers DrCB a fresh and innovative approach to America’s ever changing and challenging health care needs.
In 2005, Matt and long time friend Edward Parnell founded HomeTeam Equity, where he has served as President since its formation and ultimate opening in 2007. Parnell’s hands-on mortgage experience as a leading producer going back to 1986, coupled with Robinson’s marketing skills, athlete / sports connections and knowledge of the financial markets was the impetus for building HomeTeam Equity’s residential and commercial lending platform at a critical time in the mortgage industry. In 2011, HTE converted to a national mortgage marketing, recruiting and management company partnering with ResMac, Inc; a Fannie Mae approved lender.
After attending the University of Georgia as a scholarship athlete from 1973 through 1977, Mr. Robinson enjoyed an eight year professional football career as an NFL and USFL quarterback. Upon retirement in 1986, Matt immediately launched into a successful real estate career that included brokering and investing in commercial land and income producing properties. Robinson’s real estate related success continued in 2001 as a third party commercial general contractor specializing in the construction of multifamily projects in 28 states. In his role as Senior Vice President, Executive Committee Member and Business Development Director with Summit Contractors, Mr. Robinson was primarily responsible for Summit’s growth surge from 2002 revenue of $196M to 2004 revenue of over $380M.
Along with his business responsibilities, Robinson’s continued love of sports kept him busy from January 1995 to April 2003, as a member of the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars Broadcast Division. Mr. Robinson was a writer, producer and on-air television host. His primary role was as the teams Radio Color Analyst, and writer / producer / host of the Tom Coughlin Show. After leaving the Jaguars in 2003, Robinson continued to work as the Jaguars pre-season Television Color Analyst up until 2005. Prior to 1995, Robinson was the Managing General Partner of a Telecommunications and Financial Public Relations Company.
Robinson is a former draft pick by the New York Jets and played professional football from 1977 to 1986 with the Jets, Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Bulls of the United States Football League. Mr. Robinson is also a licensed contractor. Matt is a father of a beautiful 17 year old daughter named Mattison.
