What is naturopathy and naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathy is a traditional approach to health that is holistic, meaning that it encompasses the whole being. It is based on natural and preventative care. Naturopathic medicine combines many methodologies, such as acupuncture, massage, chiropractic adjustment, homeopathy and herbal cures, along with sensible concepts such as good nutrition, exercise and relaxation techniques. Some refer to it as “alternative care”, which is ironic, since naturopathy and naturopathic medicine are rooted in many age-old remedies that predate what’s known as “modern medicine”. A core concept is one of “doing no harm”, and complementing any necessary treatment. The terms naturopathy and naturopathic medicine are often interchangeable.

Why would I use MDhotline™ instead of seeing a doctor?

If you can’t reach your personal physician after hours or can’t make an appointment soon enough or you are on a road traveling MDhotlineTM is a convenient option.  No crowded emergency or urgent care rooms, no missing work – you will get a professional consultation, fill a prescription if necessary, get a complete triage, referral to a specialist and other health related assistance 24/7.

What if I have a medical emergency?

In case of a medical emergency you should certainly contact 911. MDhotlineTM is not an emergency service and only provides non-emergency assistance.

Who are MDhotline™ doctors?

We refer our telemedicine calls only to board certified, licensed doctors at the State where member resides. HC Smart interviews every doctor and audits their license and background. Our referral physicians are based in 50 US states, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C. where they are licensed to practice.

When to use MDhotline™ Concierge telemedicine?

Not many people have a luxury of calling their doctor or even obtaining an appointment when it is needed most.  Rushing to Emergency Room or Urgent Care centers and waiting in the crowded rooms for hours with the risk of catching another virus is the only solution left for most folks.  In fact, American Medical Association reported that 74% of the visits to the Emergency Rooms could be avoided by a simple phone call to a doctor.  MDhotlineTM is available 24/7 for your family, even if your kids are in boarding school or college and even when you travel domestically or internationally.

What are the most common conditions treated by MDhotline™ Concierge telemedicine?

Sinus Infections, Cold and Flu, Allergies, Respiratory Infections, Bronchitis, Pink Eye, UTI and other non-emergency conditions are treated by our referral Physicians.

Would MDhotline™ physicians prescribe medication?

Only non-narcotic/non-DEA controlled medications can be prescribed and only if physicians believes it it safe and necessary.  We make it much easier for our doctors to evaluate the options.  First, we invite a patient to upload their medical history to our HIPAA compliant repository, then our Registered Nurse would perform a Triage service, then the case is submitted to a Doctor for a review.  When Doctor returns a phone call he or she is already educated on the case and ready to assist quickly.  When prescription is issued it is electronically submitted to the Pharmacy of your choice.  You can also be provided Pharmacy Discount and through our affiliated partner where you could save up to 80% on prescription medications.

Do you provide follow-up calls?

Absolutely. Our Registered Nurse Concierge will follow up with you a day after consultation to follow up on your wellness and other needs.

Am I qualified for a service if I have pre-existing conditions?

MDhotlineTM is not insurance. We refer all our members to physicians whether they have insurance or not.

Can you provide service for underage members of our family?

Yes, but adult guardian must be on a call for our referred Doctors to provide service.

If I need a specialist can I get a referral?

After the consultation, our Concierge Registered Nurse and Referred Physician can refer you to a specialist in your area, make an appointment for you at a convenient time and allow you to provide your medical records and consultation report to that specialist. If you have insurance we can follow the guidance of that policy to find the specialist accordingly. Our Health Concierge would follow-up in advance to remind you of your appointment and then follow up after the treatment.
